January Sermon Series:

Rediscovering the Joy and Privilege of Prayer

From 8th January, we will starting our preaching series looking at prayer. Prayer ought to be a privilege that Christians depend on and find joy in – imagine having access to the Maker and Judge of all the universe, and being able to present our requests and prayers to Him about anything. Anything. If we truly knew the value of prayer, we ought to be on our proverbial knees continually speaking to our heavenly Father.

All too often, though I suspect that we feel like prayer is a burden. I know I feel it from time to time, and I know that you do as well. So how do we overcome these false impressions and rediscover the joy and privilege of prayer? Our 4 part sermon series will examine the Scriptures to remind us just how incredible prayer is because of Jesus. Here is how the series will look throughout January:

8th January            God Always Hears Our Prayers (Andrew Levy)

 15th January          God grows us through prayer (Tony Tress)

22nd January         God guides us through Prayer (Ross Collins)

29th January          God grows His Kingdom through Prayer (Mike Hall)

Prayerfully, I hope this series will excite us to pray more, and that prayer would be the foundation of God’s work in and through our church in 2012.
